The table provides data on rail transport usage in four countries in 2007. Malaysia and China had significantly higher levels of rail transport usage compared to Canada and the UAE.

In terms of the number of people using rail transport, Malaysia and China had the highest figures. Malaysia had 5.9 million people using rail transport, while China had a staggering 271 million. Canada and the UAE had much lower numbers, with 0.38 million and 5.5 million people using rail transport, respectively.

Regarding passenger kilometers per head of population, Malaysia and the UAE had similar figures, with 770 and 780 kilometers per person, respectively. China had a lower figure of 1980 kilometers per person, while Canada had the highest at 2820 kilometers per person.

In terms of cargo carried, China was the clear leader with 23 billion tons of cargo transported. Malaysia and the UAE had similar figures of 22.2 and 21.9 billion tons, respectively. Canada had the lowest cargo volume at 8.2 billion tons.
